Copper wiring, breaker boxes stolen from Augusta Christian center

Copper wiring and breaker boxes valued at $1,200 were reportedly stolen from the New Life Christian Center, 3336 Wrightsboro Road, this past weekend.

Jimmy Lee Harris of the center told police someone had broken into the building between 10 p.m. Friday and 2:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

Deputies noted the metal paneling had been removed from the rear wall and a hole cut into the wall for entry, the report says. There was also a hole cut through the drywall going from one section of the building to the other.

Police also found a black-and-yellow jacket, gloves, pack of Newport cigarettes and a Pall Mall cigarette butt inside the building that Harris said was not there Friday.
