Jewelry stolen from Augusta apartment

More than $2,500 in jewelry was reportedly stolen from an Augusta apartment Monday.

Arlene Francis Bender, of the 2900 block of Richmond Hill Road, said she was in the process of moving to another apartment on the day of the burglary, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office report.

Bender said that sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., someone got into her apartment and took her 14-karat dome shaped ring, a pink pearl necklace, a white pearl necklace, an amethyst-and-diamond ring, a quartz ring and a pearl-and-diamond ring.
