Three Jackson, S.C., residents were arrested Wednesday after Aiken County sheriff’s investigators discovered more than $5,000 in illegal drugs at a residence in the county.
According to a news release, the sheriff’s office and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources executed search warrants in the 200 block of Bear Island Lane for illegal narcotics, trapping and hunting.
At thehome, investigators found more than 30 marijuana plants, 18 grams of crystal meth and other items related to illegal gaming.
Dennis Ruff, 62, and Ronald Hartline, 54, who both lived at the home, were charged with manufacturing marijuana. Hartline was also charged with possession of crystal meth. Latitia Jarrett, 51, of Beard Road in Beech Island, was charged with trafficking crystal meth and possession of Schedule IV controlled substances.
Police confiscated several firearms, a vehicle used in the transportation of the narcotics, and a piece of farm equipment used in the planting and cultivation of the marijuana. Police estimate the marijuana is valued at $3,000 and the crystal meth at $2,200.
