Cancer patients to rally at University Hospital for research funding

Cancer patients at University Hospital will be part of a national effort Thursday to urge Congress not to cut funding for cancer research.

Patients and advocates will rally from 6 to 7 p.m. in front of Professional Center 2, at the corner of Walton Way and D’Antignac Street. They will be urged to sign a banner that will be delivered Sunday, when hundreds will converge on Washington to rally for preserving cancer research funding.

The rallies are being organized by local volunteers of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the advocacy arm of the American Cancer Society.
