STONE MOUNTAIN, GA. — Two men have been charged in a shooting that killed a 9-month-old boy and injured three women.

DeKalb County police say Marco Watson, 36, and Devin Thomas, 18, have been charged with murder and aggravated assault charges in the death of Kendarious Edwards. The two were already in jail on unrelated charges.

Police have said they believe the incident was retaliation for a prior shooting in early May.

GPS in teddy bear leads to suspect

ATHENS, GA. — Police say they used a GPS device hidden inside a teddy bear to track down the toy and apprehend a suspect in the theft.

Athens-Clarke County police say Mid-Atlantic Clothing Recycling had been experiencing thefts of clothing from its collection bin at Georgia Square Mall.

A company manager concealed the GPS device inside the bear, placed it in a bag of clothing and tossed it into the collection bin, The Athens Banner-Herald reported.

About 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, the manager called police to report that the teddy bear was on the move. Police said the manager worked with the officer to update the stuffed animal’s location. A 55-year-old man was stopped while placing clothes into a donation bin and was charged with theft by taking, a misdemeanor.
