Car struck, shot at on Sand Bar Ferry Road

A Beech Island man says an acquaintance intentionally struck the side of his vehicle while driving Friday and fired a shot at him.

Paul Wright, 30, said he was driving on Sand Bar Ferry Road when the suspect pulled alongside his vehicle, yelled at him and rammed his SUV into the side of Wright’s vehicle, a Richmond County sheriff’s report said.

When Wright slowed down, the suspect pulled a black semi-automatic firearm and fired a shot at his vehicle, hitting the front right windshield.

Wright stopped at the Five Star Express gas station to call 911, and the suspect drove off in the green Chevrolet Blazer with Georgia tag PAM4043, the report said.
