An Augusta woman got an early Mother’s Day surprise Saturday when she found out an unknown man tattooed her 17-year-old daughter, police say.
Charlotte Middlebrook told Richmond County sheriff’s deputies that within the past three months, someone tattooed the letter “K” on her daughter’s stomach, according to an incident report.
When she asked who did the tattoo, the teen said she didn’t know who the man was but that he was a black male who lives in an apartment behind Regency Mall.
Under Georgia law, it is illegal to tattoo someone younger than 18 unless you are a licensed physician or osteopath. Any person found in violation of the law can be charged with a misdemeanor.
