Phones stolen from Augusta store

A burglar caused more than $1,500 in damage at an Augusta business Saturday night, police say.

Benjamin Crawford said someone shattered the glass front door at My Wireless, 144 Davis Road, and smashed the top of a display case inside, a Richmond County sheriff’s report said.

Crawford said he locked the doors at about 4 p.m. Saturday and returned to find the storefront damaged. Two cellphones, with a total value of $425, were stolen; only one had a functional display.
