A mother and daughter involved in a fight in which another woman was cut across the face with a broken beer bottle were sentenced to 12 months’ incarceration Monday.
A Richmond County Superior Court jury convicted Shervonia C. Carter, 23, and Lemoria T. Carter, 36, of simple battery last month. They were indicted for aggravated assault in the Oct. 14, 2010, cutting of Jameka Germany.
Germany and Lemoria Carter had encountered each other earlier in the evening and exchanged words, according to testimony. The attack occurred when the woman arrived separately for breakfast at Waffle House in Southgate Plaza shopping center.
