An Augusta man wanted in burglaries in the west Wheeler, Bertram Road and Perimeter Parkway neighborhoods was caught Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Jason Christopher Stripling, 37, was apprehended by the Pennsylvania State Police, and his extradition to Georgia is pending, an e-mail from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said.
Stripling had outstanding warrants for burglary and stalking, according to a news release issued Friday.
He was believed to be accompanied by his girlfriend or wife, Ashley Marie Nale, who also goes by Ashley Stripling. She is wanted for questioning, the release said. Richmond County investigators couldn’t comment on whether she had been with Stripling at the time of arrest.
This isn’t Stripling’s only run-in with the law. He was indicted on drug charges and 10 counts of burglary and sentenced in October 2003. He had posed as a utility worker to get into west Augusta apartments, according to Augusta Chronicle reports.
