Arrest made in North Augusta stabbing

A man accused of stabbing another in North Augusta was arrested Friday morning.

Deputies were called to the 300 block of Second Avenue about 12:50 a.m. where they found a man with cuts on his forearm and side. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police searched the area and found Jonathan Robert Jones, 29, in an abandoned home nearby.

Jones was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center, where he is expected to be charged with attempted murder, according to Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah,.

In January, Jones was charged with assault and battery in the third degree, according to Aiken County arrest records. Records also show four additional assault and battery charges dating back to September 2002.
