A Rite Aid employee has been arrested after police said he was involved in plans to rob the business.
Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were called to the store at 1505 Walton Way around 11:50 p.m. Thursday for reports of an armed robbery. According to a news release, the assistant manager was preparing to close when she was approached in her office by a person with a knife who demanded cash.
Police apprehended Anjelica Monigue Rouse, 20, of Castelina Drive in North Augusta, and Nicholas Cordell Mason, 19, of Central Avenue behind the business on the 500 block of Chafee Avenue.
Police later learned De’Michaels Glover, 20, of Shadow Ridge Drive, had conspired to commit the robbery, the report said. Glover was working at the store at the time of the robbery.
All three were booked into the Richmond County jail on armed robbery charges.
