Richmond County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a manager-in-training of a fast food restaurant they say helped herself to more than $1,400 from the store’s safe.
According to a police report, the woman arrived at Checkers on Walton Way at about 6:30 a.m. Friday and engaged in small talk with a co-worker who was waiting for a manager to open the store. She asked whether the cameras were working, and the co-worker said he didn’t know.
The woman then opened the door, went into the building, came out with a handful of cash and drove away.
The manager found the safe open and $1,440.38 missing. When officers went to the address Checkers had on file, they found the employee had moved.
