Warrants have been issued for a 27-year-old man who crashed a vehicle Monday evening after threatening suicide.
Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Blaise Dresser said William Redd, of the 3900 block of Wrightsboro Road, was a backseat passenger in a vehicle on Georgia Highway 56 near Carmichael Road around 9 p.m. when he threatened to kill himself and take the two people in the front seat out with him.
Dresser said Redd attacked the driver, grabbed the wheel and steered the vehicle into a guardrail. The driver told officers he had been taking Redd to the hospital when the crash happened.
The driver and front seat passenger suffered minor injuries. Redd was taken by ambulance to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with a cut to the head. He faces two counts of terroristic acts and threats.
