10-year-old held in shooting death sent to YDC

A 10-year-old who has been linked to Friday’s death of 31-year-old Jennifer Albright in Burke County, Ga., had a detention hearing Tuesday, authorities said.

The youth was sent to Augusta Youth Development Campus and is being represented by attorney Pete Theodocion.

Albright was found dead in her Midville home with a gunshot wound. Three children who were in the home were unharmed.

Officers responded to what they thought was a home invasion that was later determined to be a “domestic situation involving juveniles,” Burke County Sheriff Greg Coursey said.

The sheriff’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation investigated. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Pittman Morris and presided over by Judge Willie Saunders.
