A Grovetown man accused of sexual misconduct with two teen girls is scheduled for a bond hearing today in Columbia County.
Landon “Dock” Norman, 38, of Long Creek Falls, is expected to stand before Superior Court Judge William M. Fleming Jr., who will decide whether Norman will get a bond at the 2:30 p.m. hearing at the Evans courthouse. Norman is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond, according to jail records.
Norman was arrested Oct. 24 for inappropriately touching a 14-year-old girl at Riverside Park, where her brother and Norman’s son played baseball together, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
The girl’s mother said Norman first started talking with her daughter at the park while the teams practiced. She said Norman added the teen as a friend on Facebook and later made inappropriate comments and sent nude pictures to her e-mail address, according to the report.
During a practice at Riverside Park in June, Norman took the girl to a secluded area and told her to get into his vehicle, where he made advances toward her and molested her, according to the report. He then threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident and continued to inappropriately touch the girl until he left to pick his son up.
In that incident, he was charged with aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and five counts of electronically distributing obscene material to a minor.
On Nov. 4, authorities charged Norman with additional counts – aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery and rape. A 16-year-old girl reported in April that he fondled her and performed oral sex on her, according to sheriff’s office Capt. Steve Morris.
A bond hearing was initially scheduled for Nov. 4, but was postponed due to the added charges.
