Local veterans will get a chance for further training and employment opportunities through a pilot program launched by ADP.
ADP has partnered with Workforce Opportunity Services, a nonprofit that places veterans in scholarship programs to aid in post-service employment, to offer veterans in both Augusta and El Paso, Texas, a six-month classroom training program beginning in January and ending with possible permanent employment, ADP announced Monday.
Eight chosen participants will take a Georgia Institute of Technology course at Georgia Regents University’s Augusta campus, through a partnership between the two institutions. The scholarship includes a weekly stipend, health benefits and fully paid tuition. At the end of the semester, veterans will begin a year paid consulting period at ADP followed by a potential full-time hire.
ADP and Workforce Opportunity Services are currently recruiting veterans for the program and will select candidates in December.
