Columbia County property once pegged for a future Vein Guys office is now listed on the market for $1.4 million.
The decision to sell the 2.5-acre parcel at 7008 Evans Town Center Boulevard came following the February plane crash near Thomson that killed Vein Guys co-founder and vascular surgeon Steven Roth as well as four other staff members, said Kelly Vann, CEO of Vein Guys. The business is officially called The Vein Care Pavilion of the South.
“It is an excellent location being next to the park and in the middle of professional and commercial growth,” Vann said in an e-mail. “We think that the real estate market in that area is in the midst of rebounding and presents a great opportunity for investors to buy up choice real estate.”
In 2008, the property next to Evans Towne Center Park was slated for a four-story, 35,000-square-foot modern medical and professional building by the company’s other founder, Dr. Keith Davis, who died in early 2010. The commercially-zoned land has remained undisturbed since.
Columbia County Commissioner Ron Cross said the county has expressed interest in the property for additional parking since Davis announced plans to develop the site.
Cross maintains that the land would still be ideal for parking or other uses but funding is not currently available.
“Being adjacent to the park and the entire government complex makes it attractive to us, but it always comes down to dollars and cents,” he said. “Sometimes your eyes are a lot bigger than your wallet, so you have to balance that out.”
Meybohm Commercial is handling the listing.
