IGA grocery store to open in Hephzibah

An IGA grocery store will open Wednesday on Georgia Highway 88 in Hephzibah.

The 34,000-square-foot store will offer a deli and bakery, seafood department, full-service meat department, and dining area.

“I really feel that the seafood department will do very well. Combined with our meat department, they really set us apart from the competition,” said Raymond Borseth, the store manager. “At IGA, we offer a wide range of meats and have several meat cutters on hand to satisfy each customer’s needs.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday will feature local business and government leaders.

“I am very excited about opening this store for the people of Hephzibah,” Borseth said.

The Hephzibah store is owned by Floco Foods, based in Lake City, S.C. There are 31 Floco IGA stores across Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

IGA is a worldwide supermarket network that does more than $29 billion in aggregate retail sales yearly, according to a company release.

“We are focused on being in touch with the community yet as part of IGA, we have the buying power of the largest voluntary grocery chain in the world,” Borseth said.
