Six Reid’s grocery stores in South Carolina will close this week and reopen June 6 as Bi-Lo stores.
“These new stores are not the Bi-Los customers think they know,” Allen Reavis, Bi-Lo’s regional vice president, said in a news release.
Bi-Lo Holdings will work with Reid Boylston, the director of merchandising for Bi-Lo and Reid’s founder, to “marry the best of the Reid’s with the best of Bi-Lo” at six Reid’s locations and eight South Carolina Bi-Lo locations on Pine Log Road in Aiken; Carolina Square in Edgefield; two in Orangeburg; and stores in Batesburg, Hampton, Bamberg and St. Matthews.
The eight existing Bi-Los will adopt several popular Reid’s products and programs.
New and continuing features at all 14 stores will include store hours from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., breakfast served daily, Fuelperks! rewards, Bi-Lo bonus cards and weekly deals.
Reid’s locations in Barnwell, New Ellenton, Aiken, Warrenville, Saint George and Saluda will close Saturday.
Bi-Lo Holdings purchased Reid’s, Harveys and Sweetbay grocery chains from Delhaize Group in 2013 for $265 million.
