Army Cyber Command general to speak to chamber in February

Lt. Gen. Edward C. Cardon is the guest speaker for the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting Feb. 27.

The commanding general of the U.S. Army Cyber Command will speak at the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting at the end of February.

Lt. Gen. Edward C. Cardon will be the guest speaker for the Feb. 27 meeting, which will be at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center.

Cardon served as the deputy commanding general for support for U.S. forces in Iraq in 2010-11 and most recently served as the commanding general of 2nd Infantry Division.

Cardon was born in Texas, reared in California and commissioned as an engineer officer from the U.S. Military Academy in 1982.

The dinner and program will begin at 6:30 p.m. The chamber event will include the traditional passing of the gavel to induct the new chairman of the board and presentation of the Lester Moody Award of Excellence.
