Columbia County deputies were looking Monday for a driver who fled from a wreck with a patrol car on Furys Ferry Road early Saturday.
A 28-year-old Columbia County sheriff’s deputy said he’d stopped his patrol car in the southbound left turn lane of Furys Ferry Road at Oakbrook Drive at about 3:15 a.m. when the wreck occurred.
The deputy said a silver Honda CRV, traveling south in the inside through-lane, drifted into the turn lane and hit the back of his sheriff’s office Ford Crown Victoria.
The driver of the CRV then sped away. Authorities noted it had front-end damage.
The deputy was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital, sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said.
Anyone with information about the driver’s identity or whereabouts should call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at (706) 541-2800.
