Augusta female sought after pointing gun in another woman's face

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an Augusta woman accused of pointing a firearm at another female Friday afternoon.

About 1:55 p.m., deputies responded to the 3200 block of Brandywine Drive, where China Welsh, 39, said that Kesha Hazel “approached her vehicle and pointed a black handgun in her face,” according to an incident report.

The suspect then allegedly said, “I got you” and left the scene, the report said.

Welsh told deputies the incident was a result of a verbal altercation over previous incidents.

Deputies attempted to contact the suspect at her home but were unsuccessful. More information is forthcoming.
