An Augusta woman was arrested Thursday for possession of methamphetamine.
During a routine traffic stop, Deputy William Mundy noticed Keele Snell Mazur, 33, sitting in the passenger seat with the physical appearance and mannerisms of someone who abuses methamphetamine, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report.
Mundy asked the suspect if there were any drugs in the vehicle and Mazur stated “there are not,” the report said.
Mundy asked “Do you give me permission to search your vehicle for drugs?” The suspect replied “Go on ahead, ain’t nothing in there,” the report stated.
Where Mazur was sitting, deputy Mundy found two used syringes with swabs wrapped in a black paper bag.
Once at the jail, deputies found a small plastic wrap containing white crystals in Mazur’s front pocket. Mundy field tested the crystals, which proved positive for methamphetamine, the report stated.
The total weight was 0.5 grams, according to the report.
