Pedestrian identified in Aiken County hit-and-run accident

One day after a hit-and-run accident hospitalized a pedestrian, South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to search for the vehicle which fled the scene.

The incident, which occurred in Aiken County around 9:30 p.m. Monday, injured pedestrian Billy Ray Bagwell, sending the 55-year-old to Georgia Regents Medical Center, Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said.

Bagwell, a resident of Aiken, is still listed in serious condition.

The vehicle used in the hit-and-run is described as light-colored with four doors, and was last seen traveling north on Augusta Road near Anthony Drive, Jones said.
