Police look for links in gas station holdups

Investigators were looking into three armed robberies of gas stations this week to see whether they are related.


The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was called to the most recent robbery at Sprint on the 2000 block if Gordon Highway around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lt. Blaise Dresser said a black male entered the store with a handgun and demanded cash. He had a camouflage cloth covering his face and head.

On Sunday, around 10:10 p.m. deputies responded to a similar incident at Polo Food Store, 4002 Deans Bridge Road. The gunman was described as a black male with a bandana covering his face.

On Monday, deputies were called to Gary’s Get It to Go, at North Leg and Milledgeville roads, where a gunman with a black shirt over his face also made off with cash.
