Appliances stolen from Augusta home

A burglar took a stove, refrigerator and a water heater from an Augusta home, police said.

Catherine Morales Krattli, 55, from Macon, Ga., told police a thief had not only taken the items from the kitchen, but also vandalized the house, in the 2800 block of April Drive, between Oct. 1 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a Richmond County sheriff’s report.

The carpet was ripped, there were holes in the walls, and a broken window, the report says.

Deputies contacted the former tenant, who said the items were there when she left on Oct. 1.
