Aiken police searching for suspects in 2 robberies

Aiken Public Safety is asking for help locating robbers from two Saturday night incidents.

Sgt. Aaron Dowdy said the Atlanta Bread Company, 1944 Whiskey Road, was robbed around 8 p.m. A man approached the register and demanded money. He then pulled up his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a gun. The employee gave him money, and the robber fled in a burgundy late 1980s or early 1990s Ford F-150.

Around 10:30 p.m., Jade of China restaurant, 1014 Pine Log Road, was robbed.

The owner was going out the back door when a man pushed him. The owner fought back but was overpowered. The robber took his wallet and ran off.

The race of the suspect was not clear, but investigators did find a hat they think the robber was wearing. It has a logo for a C5-B military transport aircraft.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Aiken Public Safety’s Investigative Division at (803) 642-7620 or Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of $50 to $1,000.
