Property recovered after Augusta robbery

More than $2,800 in electronics were stolen from an apartment and recovered before the burglars could flee Friday afternoon.

According to a Richmond County Sheriff’s report, Deputy Anthony Bennerman was called to a home on the 200 block of East Telfair Street around 4:20 p.m. On his way, dispatch told him about a black Chevrolet Malibu attempting to leave the scene.

When Bennerman stopped the car, three black males jumped out of the car and started running. Three women had stayed in the car.

All the stolen items were recovered in the trunk of the Malibu, including two laptops, two televisions, two DVD players and more than 200 DVDs, and returned to the victim.
