Undercover operation leads to marijuana bust

An undercover narcotics operation led to the arrest Wednesday of an Augusta man charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

At 10:25 a.m., Andrew Lee Knight was spotted by narcotics investigators on the 300 block of Telfair Street placing two sealed, clear plastic bags containing 440.9 grams of marijuana inside his green backpack. The investigators apprehended Knight and found in his bag another plastic container with 3.1 grams of marijuana and a black digital scale, the report states.

Knight, 23, of the 1000 block of Stevens Creek Road and an employee of Fatz Cafe, admitted to possessing marijuana and told the investigator, “Y’all got me. I’m guilty.”
