Man, woman arrested after injecting drugs in North Augusta bathroom

A man and a woman were arrested on a charge of public drunkenness Wednesday. North Augusta Public Safety officers say they were doing drugs in a gas station bathroom.

Officers arrived at Greg’s Gas Plus in the 500 block of E. Martintown about 10:30 p.m. after a clerk complained about suspicious activity. Officers said they found both suspects in their respective bathrooms, along with needles in the trash can and belt used for a tourniquet. Anthony Dove, 26, of the 1800 block of Hollis Avenue, and Jackie Hinkle, 26, of the 2400 block of Wilkeshire Drive, admitted to melting a prescription painkiller and injecting it; they were arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness.
