Blockbuster stores on Washington and Peach Orchard roads will liquidate their inventory and close in early 2012.
The inventory liquidation will begin Dec. 27, according to a store manager who refused to give her name.
Messages sent to Blockbuster corporate officials were not returned Wednesday.
Blockbuster declared bankruptcy this year and was acquired by Dish Network. At the time of the bankruptcy auction in April, there were 1,700 Blockbuster stores nationwide. Shortly after the acquisition, nearly 200 stores closed, including one in Evans.
