The Augusta area could see nearly $2 million generated from visitor spending in March.
The Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Augusta Sports Council expect visitors to spend about $1.9 million while attending meetings, reunions and events in Augusta this month, according to a news release.
Direct visitor spending is calculated by the number of occupied overnight hotel rooms.
The event expected to bring in the most is the ESi annual WebEOC Conference set for March 30-April 6 at the Augusta Convention Center, where 300 people are projected to attend the conference and spend $586,264.
