Waynesboro facility to eliminate 70 percent of its workforce

A consumer packaged goods company is eliminating 98 positions at its Waynesboro, Ga., plant.

OneCARE manufactures and distributes products from brands including Clorox, Tide and Dryel. The layoffs are a result of consolidations within the company’s manufacturing operations.

Company spokeswoman Megan Licursi said the layoffs will be in three waves, beginning in late October and ending in late December.

The facility has 139 employees, reducing to 41 employees at the Waynesboro plant. The Waynesboro facility’s leading product line, lint rollers, will now be produced at OneCARE’s plant in Ludlow, Ky.

OneCARE is headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., and employs 259 nationwide.
