Roadrunner Cafe is opening its second restaurant in Augusta.
The locally owned restaurant will open at 2821 Washington Road in the third week of September, said co-owner Charlie Sconyers.
The original Roadrunner Cafe, at 2508 Peach Orchard Road, opened in 2005 and has 35 employees.
Sconyers said he and his brother, Randy Sconyers, selected the Washington Road site, formerly Flyin’ Cowboy, because of its location and availability.
“We actually want to get to a point where we franchise. Probably do about one a year,” Sconyers said.
He said he will hire 80 to 120 employees. Applications will be accepted at the restaurant starting Sept. 1.
The 7,000-square-foot restaurant has a seating capacity of 210. Sconyers is cleaning and making minor renovations.
Roadrunner Cafe’s menu includes hamburgers, wings, steak and seafood. The location will have a bar and offer karaoke and acoustic acts, Sconyers said.
