A gift boutique offering opportunities for local artists, designers and military spouses has opened in Grovetown.
Owner Michelle Suyeyoshi opened Lavishly Posh Boutique & Parties this month on Second Avenue across from Grovetown City Hall.
Suyeyoshi moved to Augusta in January when her husband was assigned to Fort Gordon. She started her business one year ago in Arizona and has a background in television directing, public relations, interior design and event planning.
She said the store evolved from her “passion for event planning and helping others pursue their dreams and goals by having a home base for their products.”
“Almost everything is local. The purpose of the store is to really bring out the creativity in everyone in the community and be an outlet for them to pursue their dreams,” Suyeyoshi said. “...We feature local designers and military spouses that need an outlet for their creativity and designs.”
Merchandise at Lavishly Posh Boutique & Parties includes hair bows, bracelets, tutus, apparel, monogrammed items and inspirational journals and books. Suyeyoshi is featuring the work of 12 designers and is looking to expand into a second location because so many designers have contacted her about selling their products in her store, she said.
The shop also offers event space rental for birthday parties, tea parties and meetings, as well as wedding and party planning services, she said.
Suyeyoshi originally looked for space in Martinez and Evans, but she decided to open in Grovetown when she “found the perfect spot.”
It was closer to Fort Gordon, and she wanted to provide opportunities for military spouses.
She renovated the 1,200-square-foot space before opening.
“To be able to give back to others is fulfilling for me,” Suyeyoshi said. “I love to see someone start from the beginning ... and pursue what they love to do.”
