NUGGETS: All-Star Carmelo Anthony apologized for his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The forward spoke for about 2 minutes Tuesday at the Pepsi Center, reading from a prepared statement and also talking off-the-cuff. Teammate Allen Iverson stood off to the side as Anthony spoke.

Police say Anthony was pulled over for weaving and failing to dim his lights at about 4 a.m. Monday on Interstate 25. He was alone in the car.

Police denied giving Anthony special treatment, even though one officer gave him a lift after his arrest and another drove his car to a city lot.

CAVALIERS: Swingman Sasha Pavlovic will miss at least the first round of the playoffs with a sprained ankle.

Pavlovic injured his left ankle in the third quarter of Monday night's 91-90 win at Philadelphia. He's expected to miss two to three weeks.

Pavlovic started the season with a contract holdout, missed 23 games with a sprained left foot, was benched recently, and had just returned to the starting lineup in place of the struggling Wally Szczerbiak .

KNICKS: Rookie Wilson Chandler will miss today's finale with a sprained left knee.
