BOBCATS: Forward Adam Morrison was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Tuesday for making an obscene gesture to fans during a game in Miami.
Morrison made the gesture while sitting on the bench late in overtime during Charlotte's 111-103 win over the Heat on Sunday. Morrison did not play in the game because of a sprained knee, the first game he missed this season.
HEAT: Forward James Posey scored five points in 26 minutes in Tuesday's 92-82 loss to Charlotte, one day after he was arrested and charged with DUI in Miami Beach.
Posey, who was released from jail in Miami-Dade County on Monday afternoon after posting $1,000 bond, issued an apology through the team Monday night, yet also denied the charge.
According to police, Posey was talking to occupants of other vehicles and pedestrians. Posey displayed "bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," the police report said.
- Guard Gary Payton will miss two to three weeks with a torn left calf muscle.
A team spokesman said that he was injured in practice the day before. He will not need surgery. The loss of Payton will likely mean more time for guard Jason Kapono.

Zaza Pachulia and Tyronn Lue each posted double-doubles in Atlanta's win over Boston.
Pachulia scored 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while Lue had a team-high 26 points and 10 assists.
Gerald Green's career-high 33 points led Boston, which has lost five in a row on the road and 16 of 19.
The Hawks were without their top three leading scorers after Josh Smith earned a two-game suspension for arguing with coach Mike Woodson in an overtime loss at Philadelphia on Sunday.
