Lady Antebellum to release third album on Sept. 13

Just a Kiss was the first single released from Own the Night, which hits stores Sept. 13.

Award-winning country music trio Lady Antebellum is releasing its third studio album, Own the Night, on Sept. 13.

Already, the first single Just a Kiss has topped the Billboard Country Singles chart, becoming the group’s career fifth No. 1 song and earning platinum certification.

Own the Night follows Lady Antebellum’s highly successful sophomore album, Need You Now, which has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide since its release in January 2010. Need You Now had three multi-week number one hits, Need You Now, American Honey and Our Kind of Love, and garnered five Grammy Awards and more than a dozen other awards show trophies.

Following this major success, Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott returned to Nashville to pen 10 of the new Capitol Nashville studio album’s 12 tracks.

“We’re definitely more in tune with each other musically and personally than ever,” Haywood said in a release. “It’s an exciting place to be. This album was created from the ground up – we are writing these songs, playing these instruments and creating these arrangements. With Own the Night, more than ever before, I think we share a real feeling of accomplishment both as a band and as friends.”

The band will be in Evans on Oct. 28 for the dedication of the new amphitheater, which is being named in their honor.

Vocalist Charles Kelley and guitarist Dave Haywood grew up in Columbia County and graduated from Lakeside High School.

Tickets for the dedication will go on sale Oct. 1 in the lobby of the library in Evans.

Lady A’s new tour begins in November with stops in Macon (Ga.) Centreplex on Nov. 12; Florence (S.C.) Civic Center on Nov. 26 and Savannah (Ga.) Civic Center on Nov. 27.
