Midtown Market’s First Thursday
Bill Karp will sing holiday favorites and trumpeter Leonard Maxey will play and stroll around Midtown Market for First Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 5.
Midtown Market is located at 2113 Kings Way.
This month’s cup charity is The Hill Baptist Church Christmas Food Pantry. Cups may be purchased for $1.
The event will also feature appetizers, specials in the shops and tours of the Old No. 7 Fire Station.

The Augusta area podiatrists, along with the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, is sponsoring a drive to collect shoes for the homeless.
Donations of new and used shoes can be brought to local podiatrists’ offices through Jan. 3. All types of shoes are needed regardless of size, condition or type.

Taste of Blythe
The City of Blythe Library Project’s Fundraising Committee will host a Taste of Blythe beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Specialty items made by local residents and area restaurants will be served. The event will also include a silent auction.
The event will be held in the community room of Blythe City Hall, 294 Church St. Proceeds will be used to equip the new library.

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
The Guild of Sacred Heart Cultural Center will present A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
The event will be based on the traditional service at King’s College Chapel at Cambridge University, England.
It will be performed by The Augusta Collegium Musicum and will feature the Augusta Children’s Chorale, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Choir, the Handbell Choir of Martinez United Methodist Church and organist Keith Shafer.

Jingle Jam 10K
SafeHomes of Augusta, Inc., has announced that the third annual Jingle Jam 10K is USATF Certified.
The 10K race is a Christmas-themed event that features runners in costume, and will be held Dec. 7 at Evans Towne Center Park in Evans.
Throughout the course, runners will be entertained by The Singing Princesses, Christmas Choir, Troop Envey, Lakeside High School Cross Country Team, Christmas Music from WBBQ, the Garden City Chorus, GRU cheerleaders, Santa and Mrs. Clause, and entertainment at the finish line.
Packet pickup will be held Dec. 6 at Stevens Creek Church beginning at 8 a.m.
All proceeds benefit SafeHomes of Augusta, a domestic violence intervention center.
