A single mother in Grovetown is recovering from back surgery and hoping for a merry Christmas for her three boys, ages 7, 8 and 10.
“I’ve had to borrow money to get them school clothes,” she writes. “I’ve tried to keep them in sports for a positive atmosphere. I can only wish and pray for just enough for them to wake up Christmas Day and still believe and have faith that no matter how hard things can get, good things can still happen.”
The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
