Augusta man asks for help for children

An Augusta man recovering from triple-bypass heart surgery cannot work this holiday and is asking for help so his children have a better Christmas.

“As a single father who could not work, I had to move in with my mother,” he writes. “She is already struggling. I just want my kids to have a nice Christmas. Whatever you could do would be appreciated.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 82 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $104,000 that helped children and families across the region.
