A mother of three boys was laid off from work last month and has used up all her savings to pay bills.
“I want to make my children happy on Christmas Day,” she writes. “Just to see them smile while opening up their presents will be the best gift I have received all year.
“I told them Christmas might be delayed this year until I can find work. They said they understood, but I could see their disappointment.
“I know God will find a way. Thank you all so much and God bless each and every one of you.”
The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
