Hephzibah mother facing trying time

A single mother in Hephzibah is facing a trying time this holiday season.

“I’m trying my hardest to find work,” she writes, “but it’s hard when you can’t even get gas money to go look for one.

“I have a 15-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter and I cry myself to sleep every night worrying about how I’m going to be able to get them anything for Christmas.”

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 81 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $115,000 that helped children and families across the region.
