Rain expected for Lady A concert

The TaxSlayer building under construction across the street from Evans Town Center Park has hung a banner to welcome Lady Antebellum from the roof.

Those planning to attend the Lady Antebellum concert tonight at Evans Town Center Park should wear something warm and waterproof.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 50 percent chance of “light” rain for the evening with temperatures that might dip to 45 degrees.

“(Temperatures) will struggle to get out of the 50s on Friday for the high,” Columbia County Emergency and Operations Director Pam Tucker said. “It will be breezy with wind between 10 and
13 mph and a 30-percent chance of rain during the day.”

County officials already had advised concert-goers to bring rain coats since umbrellas won’t be allowed.

The park will be closed to the public today until gates open at 4 p.m. The show starts at 6 p.m.

Motorists will be charged a $5 fee for spaces. The lot can be accessed from Evans Town Center Boulevard and North Belair Road.
