A RAVE TO CBS for cancelling the remainder of Two and a Half Men . Another Rave to the Judge in the Lindsay Lohan case. It is about time! Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan are out of control and need to pay for the consequences of their actions. Those in the limelight, whether they are actors, sports stars, or politicians need to be held accountable like the rest of us!
RANT TO THE three COWARDS that call themselves commissioners -- they are elected to represent the people of their area and by not attending a meeting is an act of being a coward. Attend the meetings and voice your opinion in a public format -- that is why you were voted to the office that you have -- represent the citizens and not yourself.
AGAIN, THE IGNORANCE of Augusta is demonstrated by the rants against the Roller Derby girls. I know them; they have jobs, families, kids and, above all, are not government funded and look how successful they are. Free enterprise at its best and we all have fun!
IF THE MAYOR CALLS a meeting, isn't it rude not to show up? If you are getting paid to be a commissioner, can we get a rebate for that part of the salary? Sounds like the Wisconsin Flee-baggers have landed in Augusta.
SO A WATER LEAK goes on for a month in Columbia County and nobody does anything about it? Wake up from your nap, get your tools and get to work. Or does your union membership protect you?
AHH THOSE TERRIBLE UNIONS. They spoiled everything. They took away that wonderful era of 14/16 hour days, no lunch breaks, wages that kept you on the verge of desperation, no health care, work till you die, no retirement, no vacations, etc. The good old days. ... If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you have time to read it, thank a union.
JOE BOWLES AND Butch Palmer. If you run for mayor, how will you get women to vote for you? If you think grandmas and working moms are going to vote for any man who is against church-based day care, you're not smart enough to be a babysitter, a mayor or my commissioner. And, yes, I'm a Summerville resident.
DEKE, HOW MANY TIMES do you have to ask if you've got the power? More than once? Mr. Mayor, a leader knows he has the power. A follower asks if he has the power. A good news Google search is your last best hope. Move quickly, Mr. Mayor. Fred Russell is getting impatient.
GOOD WORK on the article on the bus and lunch counter integration. It's too bad all young people cannot better appreciate how they have things now and how things were a mere 50 years or so ago.
THIS IS A RANT for you people that come to a restaurant on a Friday and Saturday night with 15 or more people and expect to be seated together. News flash. That's the busiest nights of the week and if you want to sit together without getting an attitude, the best thing I'll tell you to do is stay home and cook supper. That way you can all be a family and sit together.
