Disabled man seeks help for grandchildren

The family of a disabled painter would like to have a better holiday this year.

"The welfare of my grandchildren is the most important thing for me," the painter writes. "Unfortunately, I cannot give them anything this Christmas. My grandchildren have been with me the past four years, and I pray to God that I will be able to give them something this year."

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people such as this for 80 years. Last year, the charity raised more than $118,000 for children and families across the region.
