THIS IS A QUESTION for Alex Howard. I'd like to ask you, sir, have you lost your mind? Children are not graduating; we're not educating these kids; they are dropping out right and left; and you want to cut a day off the school week. May I remind you that you work for the school board. Your priority should be the children, not cutting budgets, but teaching them.
WESTVIEW CEMETERY needs cleaning up. It doesn't have a big enough crew to clean it. Send some prisoners up there to do the cleaning up in exchange for reduced fines and jail time.
I AM CALLING to agree with the rant about the grocery chains that don't require verification for a senior discount but do require verification to get a carton of wine coolers. A person who is 68 obviously is old enough to get wine coolers, but you don't have to prove your age to get the senior discount. It's ridiculous. It certainly doesn't pass the common sense test.
SAW ON THE INTERNET that Haiti is without a government. To help out, I'm donating one Obama, one Pelosi, one Reid, one Frank, one Coakley and two Clintons. They may keep them permanently. I'd give them a constitution, but I can't find mine right now. Oh, well, they wouldn't follow it anyway.
A BIG RANT to the people who won't pull out of the way for emergency vehicles with flashing lights. One day, when you need help, I hope that other drivers will pull out of the way and let the firetrucks and police reach you.
HEADLINE: "Racial bullying plagues school in Philadelphia." Alas, ignorant courts have outlawed the clear cure for such troubles. The school needs two cops who fear no man working as a team to bust the head of every bully they see.
I JUST WANT to thank all the people who decide when to start paving roadways. This morning I hit a crater at Scott Nixon and Bobby Jones. I now have to purchase a new rim as well as a hubcap and tire for my car.
COULD SOMEONE please put a few more potholes on Reynolds Street? I swear there is at least 15 yards of smooth road left.
A COUPLE OF RANTERS have described the art on the waterworks wall as tacky. Personally, I just don't trust the aesthetic sensibilities of someone who uses the word tacky to describe art.
IT IS EVIDENT by its rulings that the U.S. Supreme Court is no friend of the American public. From its ruling on eminent domain to the latest ruling on corporate political spending/influence peddling, the justices have it in for us, the little people.
