Customers can wait as late as Wednesday to have packages reach their destinations before Christmas. Wednesday is the last day the U.S. Postal Service, UPS and FedEx offer options that ensure delivery by Friday.
Here's what you need to know about shipping your packages in time:
Packages sent on Wednesday must go express mail to make it in time for Christmas.
Packages that go out Wednesday must be sent next-day air to reach their destination by Friday.
Standard overnight, priority overnight and first overnight should make it in time.
Here are a few places to see holiday lights:
GROVETOWN: Lights of the South (above) is open 6-10 p.m. daily through Dec. 30. Admission is $7.50 adults, $4 children ages 4-17, free for children 3 and younger. It's closed Christmas.
AIKEN: Hopelands Gardens is open 5:30-9:30 through Wednesday and on Saturday. Shuttle service from the Goodwill parking lot is offered from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
EVANS: Fernbrook Crossing neighborhood, off North Belair Road, has four homes listed on The Chronicle 's Christmas lights Web site.
