Mother just wants Christmas for kids

A mother whose 18-month-old child has heart problems would like to provide a better Christmas for him and his older brother.

"Every morning at 5 a.m., I walk to the baby sitter to leave my child and get a ride to work," she writes. "I continue to cry and pray every day for a blessing. I am unable to provide a nice Christmas for my kids this year. Even though I work, it's still tough. I worry about my kids, not myself," she writes. "If you could, please help me."

The Augusta Chronicle Empty Stocking Fund has helped people facing such challenges for 79 years.

Last year, the charity raised a record-breaking $124,000 that helped families across the region.
